Ministerial Intern at the Church at Ponce & Highland

Objective of the Internship:
Grow as a minister through hands-on experience in a wide range of contexts while helping the Church at Ponce & Highland deepen relationships, grow, and transform.
About You:
- Possessing a sense of call to ministry and desiring a place to follow and process that calling
- Currently pursuing an M.T.S. or M.Div.
- Committed to an inclusive vision of multiracial community in Christ
- Willing to serve in worship, Bible study, and to lead discussions and group activities as a part of a team of adult ministry partners
Expectations:
- Consistently attend and participate in Sunday morning worship
- Function as a lay minister within the church, gaining hands-on experience working with our small but diverse congregation
- Prepare and lead Sunday morning Bible study
- Interact with and provide pastoral care to people from all walks of life – across a wide span of ages, backgrounds, identities, and socio-economic levels
- Help plan worship and church activities
- Assist with administrative tasks
- Participate in church life and events
- Assist with children’s Sunday school or sermon as needed
Accountability and Compensation:
- You expected to meet any required expectations if participating as part of a contextual education course. Otherwise, hours and responsibilities are flexible.
- This position is unpaid, with the possibility for scholarship funding or paid work with our children’s ministry.
- You will report to the pastoral staff including Senior Pastor Rev. Mimi Walker and Associate Pastor Rev. Colin Holtz
